NYC FIRE KILLS 7-YEAR-OLD

An overnight fire took the life of a 7-year-old child and left his grandmother seriously injured. The fire is said to be originated from a neighborhood residential apartment in Manhattan quite early in the morning. The arson squad is up for the investigation the cause of fire remains under serious suspicion.

The boy declared dead on the scene of the fire was identified as a resident of the same apartment by a fellow neighbor. The life-threatening blaze critically injured the grandmother of the boy who was then taken to the nearest medical facility as soon as possible. The death of the boy has left the family and relatives devastated.

Four other civilians, also said to be residing in the apartment suffered minor injuries and their treatment is ongoing at the nearest medical facility. Apart from civilian, one firefighter is said to have suffered minor injuries as well.

The raging blaze that is suspected to have risen from the basement of the apartment was taken under control by 14 units of firefighters in under 2 and half hours. The blaring smoke that overwhelmed the neighbors also was witnessed to be settling in few hours.
